Originally these works were intended as research into the proportion and division of the plane. I had taken the Dutch flag as a motivation and I had the intention to also use flags of other countries for this. However with the VAT increase in which the art sector was hit hard in 2010, I felt compelled to express my anger about this through a spontaneous action. This is how these protest works originated.
